Oil
Water Separator Design (OWS) in California |
Oil Water Separator is required for any
facility that plans to discharge
wastewater containing Oil or Sediment to
the sewer. Facilities that typically
need Oil Water Separator include:
Facilities
using steam or pressure washers.
Quick-lube
stations.
Transportation
fueling facilities.
Vehicle
and heavy equipment repair facilities.
Peyman
Group's design team has designed different sizes
of oil water separators for different types of
industrial facilities.
Please call
Peyman Group NOW to have
preliminary discussion about your oil water
separator design project and
immediate assistance by our experts.
We size, select and design
oil water
separators based on requirements of the
agencies having jurisdiction, using two
major types of oil water separators as
following:
|
1-
Above Ground Oil Water Separators:
Peyman
Group engineering team designs a
widespread line of above ground oil
water separators that bring you high
efficiency and low maintenance, plus the
adaptability to field customize to suit
your particular application. Our
extraordinary design attains astonishing
outcomes. |
|
-
The separator shall be listed to
Underwriter’s Laboratories UL-SU2215.
|
|
-
Oil water separators are designed for
operation at atmospheric pressure.
Separator tank inlet, outlet and manways
must be vented to atmosphere to assure
proper operation.
|
|
-
The two manway vents can be manifolded
together to one common vent line. The inlet
and outlet vents must each have their own
separate, dedicated vent lines.
|
|
-
Separator shall be the standard patented
product of a steel tank manufacturer
regularly engaged in the production of such
equipment. Manufacturer shall have at least
10 years of experience in manufacturing
similar units for identical applications.
No subcontracting of tank fabrication shall
be permitted.
|
|
-
Separator shall be fabricated, inspected,
and tested for leakage before shipment from
the factory by manufacturer as a completely
assembled vessel ready for installation.
|
|
-
Separator shall be rectangular (above
ground), or cylindrical (underground),
horizontal, atmospheric-type with steel
vessel intended for the separation and
storage of flammable and combustible
liquids. The oil water separator shall have
the structural strength to withstand static
and dynamic hydraulic loading while empty
and during operating conditions.
|
|
-
Separator shall have an oil storage capacity
equal to about 30, and an emergency oil
spill capacity equal to 60% of the total
vessel volume.
|
|
Separator shall consist of inlet and outlet
connections, non-clogging flow distributor and
energy dissipater device, stationary under flow
baffle, presettling chamber for solids, sludge
baffle, oil coalescing chamber with removable
parallel corrugated plate coalescer, with
removable plates, and sectionalized removable
polypropylene impingement coalescers to optimize
separation of free oil from water, oil dam,
effluent transfer pipes, an effluent clearwell,
effluent downcomer at the outlet end of the
separator to allow for discharge from the bottom
of the effluent clearwell only, access cover(s)
for each chamber, fittings for vent, oil and
sludge pump-out, sampling box, gauging, drain
and lifting lugs.
Provide Minimum 36” round manways for inspection
& maintenance of underground oil water
separators.
